The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney Scholarships [2 each year]

$60,000 (Awarded over 4 years)

Renewable scholarships awarded to two students per year for a total of eight award holders.

Sobeys Entrance Scholarship [2 each year]

$40,000 ($10,000/year, renewable for four years)

Open to all students enrolling into the PGOV program directly from high school with a minimum entrance average of 85%. Awards are renewable for four years with continuation in Bachelor of Arts with Major or Minor in PGOV and a 80% average.

Irving Family Scholarships [3 each Year]

$20,000 ($5,000/year, renewable for 4 years)

Open to all students enrolling into the PGOV program directly from high school and to students already enrolled in a BA with a Major or Minor in PGOV. A minimum 85% average is required for entrance scholarship and a minimum 80% average in the previous year required for those already enrolled. Awards are renewable for 4 years with continuation in Bachelor of Arts with Major or Minor in PGOV and an 80% average.

Mila Mulroney Scholarship for African Nova Scotian Students [4 each Year]

$15,000 ($3,000, renewable for up to five years)

Open to all African Nova Scotian students enrolling into the PGOV program directly from high school or to African Nova Scotian students already enrolled in a BA with a Major or Minor in PGOV, or a Major in Political Science, Economics, Developmental Studies, or Women and Gender Studies. A minimum 70% average is required for the entrance scholarship and a minimum 80% average in the previous year required for those already enrolled. This award is renewable up to four years with maintenance of a 70% average.

The Weston Family Scholarship for International Exchange [6-8 each year]

$6,000

This award provides funding for student international exchanges. Awards would support one semester at an international partner university program offering courses equivalent to those at StFX and thus eligible for course credit at StFX. Awards are valued at up to $6,000 each for students enrolled in a BA with Major or Minor in PGOV. Students may re-apply to receive the award in multiple years.

Joyce Family Bursaries [25 each year]

$1000- $4,000

Awards are based on student financial need and range from $1000 to $4000. First year recipients must be enrolled in the PGOV program. Bursaries will be renewable in second, third, fourth years for students that have declared a Major or Minor in PGOV. Bursaries are also available to students already enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program and taking courses in Public and Governance.

RBC Foundation Research Internships [8 each year]

$6,250

This funding will support up to eight summer research internship awards valued at $6,250 each (which includes applicable benefits) for students enrolled in Bachelors programs at StFX. Students require a StFX faculty mentor from an appropriate area of expertise, who is willing to supervise the student during the internship. Eligibility requires enrollment in full-time studies in a StFX Bachelor’s degree during the most recent complete academic term (prior to the application deadline), and intention to return to full time studies at StFX in the term following the Research Internship.

Joseph Armand Bombardier Student Internships [6 each year]

$6,000

These awards will support full-time summer employment within a public policy or governance-related position at a government or non-government organization. The will be awarded to students enrolled in a BA with Major or Minor in PGOV at StFX. Students may re-apply to receive the award in multiple years.

Dahdaleh Scholarship for Indigenous Students [4 each year]

$15,000 ($3,000/year renewable for up to 5 years)

Open to all Indigenous Nova Scotian students enrolling into the PGOV program directly from high school or to Indigenous Nova Scotian students already enrolled in a BA with a Major or Minor in PGOV, or a Major in Political Science, Economics, Developmental Studies, or Women and Gender Studies. A minimum 70% average is required for the entrance scholarship and a minimum 80% average in the previous year required for those already enrolled. This award is renewable up to four years with maintenance of a 70% average.

Scotiabank Entrance Scholarship (1 each year)

$16,000 ($4,000/year renewable for 3 years)

Open to all students enrolling into the PGOV program directly from high school. A minimum 85% average is required for entrance scholarship. Awards are renewable for 4 years with continuation in Bachelor of Arts with Major or Minor in PGOV and an 80% average.
