Degrees & Course Patterns

The Bachelor of Music degree plan has undergone some revisions.  These take effect in the Fall 2018 semester.  Please refer to the Academic Calendar; however, it should be noted that the calendar descriptions of some of these courses will change, and some of the new courses are not yet listed in the Academic Calendar.  In addition, some of these courses have not yet been assigned their new course numbers; until they are, their numbers contain X.

Common Core

All music majors except transfer students* take the following courses in their first two years:

Progression Requirements

In order to continue in the Bachelor of Music, a grade of 65 is required for all Applied Music courses.  A grade of 60 is required as a prerequisite for 203 Jazz Theory and Arranging.

To progress to the Bachelor of Music Honours degree plan, an average of 75 is required in all courses, and all Music courses; additionally, all Music courses must have a grade of 70 or above.
