Most of these short, part -time courses are online or in classrooms and labs on the University's Antigonish campus. The recent focus of our non-credit courses is on language and university prep topics. University Math Preparation for Professional Programs (Online)
Mathematics is the science of numbers, quantity and space. The aim of University Preparatory Math for Professional Programs is to provide a student oriented math course for learning or reviewing mathematical concepts and skills that are necessary for success in a variety of professional programs (e.g. Nursing, Nutrition, Human Kinetics or Business Administration). This non-credit mathematics preparation course will be delivered online over a six week period.
Writing for Academic Purposes (Online)
StFX Continuing & Distance Education, in collaboration with the StFX Student Success Centre, is pleased to offer this six week, non-credit course in Writing for Academic Purposes. This course offers practical strategies for improving skills in academic essay writing.
University Math Preparation Pre-Calculus (Online)
This non-credit interactive course is intended to prepare students for university level math courses. Some of the main topics studied in this course are mathematical functions, trigonometry, and an introduction to limits.
