Community Engaged Scholar Award Spring Convocation 2018
This prize recognizes a student who has completed one or more service leaerning experiences and has demonstrated a personal commitment to community development.

This year's recipient of the Prize for Excellence as a Community Engaged Scholar is Jessica Edmonds.



Jessica has been engaged in the community during her time at StFX.  Jessica participated with various groups in Antigonish; Antigonish Education Cerntre, St. Andrew's Junior School, Kids First, Antigonish Family Resource Centre, RK MacDonald Nursing Home and Naomi Society for Victims of Violence.

Community Based Research Award 2018
This prize is awarded annually to the best community-engaged research project presented at Student Research Day.

This year's recipients are Denise Webb for her research project:  Determining the needs, wants and opportunities for promoting healthy eating at the East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy afterschool program.



Corrina Degen for her research project: Livelihoods Uprooted: Women and the Micro Dynamics of the Resource Curse in Northern Ghana.
