St. Francis Xavier University’s Safety Policy and Program is designed in accordance with the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act, referred to in this document as the Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice made pursuant to the Act.

The intent of the University’s Occupational Health and Safety Program is to help educate all faculty, administrators, staff, and students in working together to promote a healthy and safe working environment.

The Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee’s policies and procedures are a framework in which the University operates within to ensure that all departments are in compliance with the Act.

The Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee reserves the right to change these policies and procedures at any time and will notify the University community of these changes at that time.
