Upcoming FDC Events
The FDC is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop on assessment and evaluation with Professor Carol Evans, chair in higher education at the University of Southampton. Carol is a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), UK, and an Associate member of the HEA. She is the UK Vice President of the International Federation of National Teaching Fellows (IFNTF).
Workshop: Enhancing assessment and feedback: a pragmatic, research-informed approach: EAT.
When: Monday, October 1st, 10:15 am (workshop will run for approximately one hour, plus there will be an additional 30 minutes for questions/discussions).
Where: Council Chambers, Students' Union Building

August Teaching Retreat 2018
The Fourth Annual August Teaching Retreat will be held on Wednesday, August 29th beginning at 8:30 am, location TBA. We provide a friendly and inviting forum for the dissemination of information about teaching and learning at StFX. New, relatively new, and seasoned teaching staff and faculty will have an opportunity to listen to our peers and share ideas. The theme for this year is Teaching with Impact.
New Faculty Orientation 2018
The new faculty orientation day will be held on Thursday, August 30th in Room 202 of the St.FX Library. The FDC organizes this event every year as a welcome to new faculty. We provide a friendly and inviting forum for the dissemination of information about various people, services and resources at StFX. New faculty and teaching staff will have an opportunity to meet people from across campus as well as other new faculty.
