The Sodexo Foundation and Stop Hunger

Annually, Sodexo partners with local hunger relief organizations to provide lunches during the summer months for at risk children who are without the meal that is provided during school with a program called Feeding Our Future.  through the Sodexo Foundation and with the support of our suppliers and the donated time of our staff Feeding our Future has provided approximately 1,116,558 meals Since it's inception in Canada in 2000.

Stop Hunger is a Sodexo initiative and, as part of our Servathon, works towards helping those at risk in our community.  Learn more about Hunger in Canada here.

Each year, the Sodexo team and our customers at St. FX take part in a month long program called Servathon which raises funds, collects non-perishable food items and donates time and talent to support local Food Banks and other hunger related charities.  In our area, the Antigonish Food Bank and the Student Food Bank is our partner. We sincerely appreciate the support of the St. FX Community!

The editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers have recognized Sodexo as one of Canada's leading employers for people under thirty years old.

Companies are assessed on their programs to attract and retain younger workers. The recognition from Mediacorp Canada is based on a number of initiatives which Sodexo has implemented across the country, including Sodexo’s popular Rising Stars program, which offers placements for interns, co-op students and new managers to assist their advancement in the organization.


Student Food Resource Centre SFRC

Saint Francis Xavier University has a unique Student Food Resource Center, SFRC, that focuses on making sufficient and healthy diets accessible to all students. The SFRC is a free, confidential and accessible service to any student who needs it. One of SFRC’s key functions is operating he on campus student food bank.  Each summer, student volunteers dedicate tiring hours in the garden to yield fresh produce that will be available throughout the year.  

This year we are happy to announce that Sodexo matched, per pound, the produce from the garden. We are ecstatic that we can honour the work that these students have put in and support the campus community that we have been a part of for 30 years.

Saint Francis Xavier and Sodexo Celebrate 30 Years Working Together

Delegates of past and present, from Saint Francis Xavier University and the Sodexo management team gathered to celebrate 30 years of successful partnership, on Oct. 11, 2017.

In honour of the partnerships 30th anniversary Bill Keith, Vice President – Education for Sodexo Canada, presented a cheque for $30 000 to the Jeannine Deveau Educational Equity Endowment Scholarship Fund. The Fund is aimed at making a university education more accessible to members of the African Nova Scotian and First Nations communities. Due to the funds matching clause a total contribution of $60 000 was made on behalf of Sodexo and STFX University.

Relay For Life
For the past seven years, the Sodexo staff at St. FX has taken part in the StFX Relay for Life in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.  In 2012, they raised $4,560 for this cause that has touched so many lives.
