Honky Tonk Blue: The Night Patsy Met Hank | Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre

Fri, 2019-07-05 08:45

A mischievous musical that imagines a star-crossed meeting between Patsy Cline and country music’s broken king, Hank Williams. Patsy wants her chance in the spotlight, and Hank wants one last shot at redemption, and they find it in covering vintage songs as powerful as their two personalities. For Festival Antigonish fans who enjoyed last summer’s runaway hit Being Hank & Patsy, this is Laura and Ralph’s legendary play behind that play.

Lilly is retired. Her husband Morgan isn’t ready to call it quits. One night, their bedtime routine, complete with bickering about how to floss without spitting on the mirror, is interrupted by a loud thunk. A younger, homeless man has fallen onto their balcony. His intrusion is the catalyst for Morgan and Lilly to examine their lives, their regrets, and their relationship.
