StFX Co-operative Education integrates 12-16 months of relevant professional experience into a student’s degree through rotating periods of work and study.
If you are a StFX student who wants to discover the world of work, network with various professionals and industries, and build your resume with relevant and paid professional experience that is recognized by employers, Co-op is for you.
Co-op is more than just work experience. It is a well organized and proven learning and experiential model that contributes to students' academic and career goals.
Through the StFX Co-op Education program, students have the opportunity to discover who they are, grow as an emerging professional, and achieve their career and academic goals. Our professional development training will build your toolkit and resources to help you be successful in the program. Twelve to sixteen months of work experience will integrate what you have learned in academics into the world of work. Our capstone course, COOP 405, will complete your Co-op journey.
The StFX Co-op Office is a proud member of Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL Canada). The following Co-op programs have received CEWIL Canada accreditation: Schwartz School of Business, BSc in Biology, Computer Science, and BSc in Human Nutrition. All of our Co-op programs follow CEWIL Canada's guidelines.
