If you require education-related costs associated with your permanent disability, you may be eligible to receive the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities.
This grant offers up to $20,000 per academic year (August 1 to July 31) for each year of full-time or part-time studies (including undergraduate and graduate levels), provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Increase from current $8,000 to $20,000/year coverage is subject to Government of Canada legislative and regulatory approval.
The assistance provided under this grant is separate from your assessed need and designed to offset the additional expenses related to your disability.
Tip: Talk to a Disability Coordinator or an official at your school to discuss your educational goals and what types of supports they may already have in place.
