The program prioritization process being undertaken at StFX has been developed internally, taking into consideration the unique needs and goals of our institution. The Presidential Task Force has drawn upon the experience and guidance of numerous experts and colleagues external to the university to aid in the development of this process. 

Our program prioritization process is modeled after one developed by Robert C. Dickeson, the most frequently referenced expert in the field.  Copies of his book, Prioritizing Academic Programs and Services: Reallocating Resources to Achieve Strategic Balance, Revised and Updated (2010) have been placed on Reserve in the StFX library for the use of the campus community.
